But all windows stop working on the MacBook and the screen stops updating.

On the MacBook I can sort of see that it has set things to 'Optimized for the Sony TV', so it sees the device and even detects its settings. Thankfully as soon as I unplug the adapter everything is fine again. No issues there, it sees the adapter.Р”Р„s soon as I plug into the second display, I lose both the display on the MacBook and the secondary display says 'Invalid Input' and shows nothing. I got the Belkin Thunderbolt (DisplayPort) to HDMI adapter and it is recognized as soon as I plug it in. I have the latest Apple MacBook Pro Retina 15' and needed to attach it to secondary screens (often televisions.) I have a Sony Bravia here with HDMI input.
